🔧The Toolbar

New

The New button is a quick way to create a blank Book instead of the current Book. Note: Bonfire doesn’t automatically save progress, so a creator’s work will be erased if not manually saved. Currently, there is no prompt to warn creators to save their Books.

Open

Open a Book for editing. Note: Bonfire doesn’t automatically save changes, nor does Bonfire prompt creators to save changes before opening a Book. The Book creators are editing and will unload, and a creator’s changes will be lost if creators do not first save their books.

Save

Save the Book progress. Note: Bonfire does not automatically save experiences periodically, so users must save their work often before they close the application. Be warned that there is no prompt to remind users to save their work before closing the application.

If creators save a newly created Book, they will be prompted to select a folder to save it in. Any subsequent saves will overwrite this Book file. Bonfire Books are saved with a dimxb file extension.

Save As

"Save As" provides a method to save the Book under a different name. Any subsequent saves will overwrite this Book file. Bonfire Books are saved with a dimxb file extension.

Cut

Removes the selected object from a scene. This works with the Paste to permanently move an object from one location to another.

Copy

This command copies the selected Sparks and all their Traits into the clipboard. It is limited to Sparks only and will not affect other areas of Bonfire.

Paste

Inserts the copied Sparks into the Map Editor panel in the position from which they were copied.

Asset Config

Opens the Asset Configuration window, allowing creators to download available Spark Libraries.

Report a Bug

Opens an external website redirecting to the Bonfire Customer Support page, where creators can request technical support, report bugs, submit change requests, and more.

Book Details

Available top-center within Bonfire, the experience's default name is ‘new book.' Clicking the down arrow reveals the following editable fields:

Undo

Reverses the last edited action. Hovering over the Undo button will show the last edited action that will be reversed. The Undo button is disabled if there is nothing to undo.

Redo

Restores the last edited action. Hovering over the Redo button shows the last edited action that will be restored. The Redo button is disabled if there is nothing to redo.

Utilization

The percentage of space being taken up in the Book. Utilization varies depending on the target platform (Computer, Apple iPad, Meta Quest 2).

Share

Publishes the Book on Dimension X’s online file servers, making it available to be downloaded onto one of Bonfire’s supported players (provided that the Book Share Code is known).
